Manager, QI and Risk Management

Position Description:
The Manager, Quality Improvement and Risk Management is responsible for overseeing the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards, and managing risk management activities for all DePelchin Children’s Center Programming. The Manager will also facilitate policy development, re-accreditation activities, and licensing processes. This role involves collaboration with various departments to implement CQI activities and maintain current policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the CQI process to ensure alignment with best practices, regulatory requirements, and strategic objectives.
- Plan and coordinate accreditation and licensing processes, including preparations for site visits and responses to revisions required by accrediting agencies.
- Supervise CQI & Risk Management staff.
- Oversee the review, update, and revision of agency program policies and procedures annually, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Lead or support Continuous Quality Improvement and Risk Management projects across departments, including facilitation of Quality Improvement and Risk Management committees and workgroups.
- Coordinate internal audits and peer reviews to monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and standards
- Collaborate with the Information Technology Department to maintain and report data from the applicable software database for program monitoring and data integrity.
- Report regularly on performance improvement, external audits, critical incidents, and benchmark information.
- Maintain records related to CQI projects, planning, and risk management functions.
- Liaise with other departments and programs to ensure a culture of safety, transparency and accountability
- Develop tools, forms, and resources that support quality improvement and risk management activities
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and standards that impact risk exposure (e.g., DFPS, HHSC, CPA, HIPAA)
- Serve as a resource for CQI and Risk Management to Program Management Staff.
- Serve on committees/task forces as requested by the CEO.
- Consult with program staff regarding maintenance of standards required by accreditation and licensing agencies and perform program surveys to test compliance with such standards.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five (5) years of experience in management of CQI, risk management, licensing and accreditation with a Child Placement Agency or similar social service or health care organization.
- Three (3) years of managed care experience.
- Three (3) years management/supervisory experience.
- Specific training in Continuous Quality Improvement, Risk Management and Compliance preferred.
- Three (3) years’ experience in utilization, quality, or case management preferred.
- Knowledge of non-profit services and programs.
- Possess persuasive, clear, and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines.

- Range of Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
- Travel: Occasional - Uses own vehicle on agency business but does not transport clients. (Must have a valid Texas driver license and current auto insurance)
