Position Description:

The Manager, Financial Reporting, will aggregate important financial data and prepare reports for business use both internally and externally.  This position offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Primary responsibilities include:
  1. Preparation of internal financial report at month end close, including producing the monthly financial statements from the ERP accounting system and assisting with budget variance analysis and trend reports. 
  2. Preparation of external financial report preparation including the annual agency cost report, indirect cost calculation, and assisting the external auditing firm with the preparation of an annual IRS Form 990 and 5500 for the 403b plan, and other regulatory reporting as needed. 
  3. Collaboration and communication with several departments in order to prepare internal and external reports.
  4. Preparation of Federal and State single audit binder schedules.
  5. Assisting the advancement team with preparation of any needed grant or donor reports.
  6. Reviewing the release of temporarily restricted funds received from donors.
  7. Responsible for supervision of staff accountant(s) as needed.
  8. Developing and supporting process improvements which will generate best practice procedures related to financial reporting for the organization.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Five (5) years financial accounting experience specifically the preparation of financial reports, dashboards, other regulatory and tax filing reports for non-profit organizations.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

  • Range of Schedule:  M – F, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Travel: None
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Access/Power B.I.
  • Familiarity with database concepts.
  • Knowledge of GAAP for Not-for-Profit organizations.
  • Systems mindset and high level of comfort using technology.
  • Ability and interest in collaborating with diverse personalities and levels of financial acumen.
  • Ability to understand and build insight from financial data.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential information and high degree of problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication.
