Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Location: South Central and Hill Country Area (Comprised of 17 counties in and around San
Antonio)

Position Description:
The Mental Health Counselor will provide evidence-based therapeutic services to children and their families who are referred to DePelchin by Family-Based Safety Services (FBSS). These services will be provided primarily in-homes as well as virtual, offices, schools or other institutions in the South Central and Hill Country Region. The South Central and Hill Country area is previously know as Region 8b and is comprised of 17 counties in and around San Antonio.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish. English required.
- Master’s in social work or related human services field.
- Fully licensed as an LMSW; or
- Provisionally licensed as an LPC-Associate, or LMFT-Associate.
- Passed licensure examination to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate, or LPC-Associate.
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining full/provisional licensure within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entry level with one year's experience.
- One (1) year experience in case management, crisis intervention, or child welfare.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Must be able to work flexible hours which vary according to client needs.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
Work Conditions:
- Travel: Frequent - Must be able to drive regionally within the seventeen (17) counties in the South Central and Hill Country Region. Reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License required. Mileage reimbursed.
- Range of Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 7:00 am - 9:00 pm, Occasional nights or weekends.
Training:
- DePelchin will provide training in the following therapeutic models within the first year of employment: Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) models.
- Employment is contingent on the acquisition of minimal certification/licensure.
