Position Description

The Bilingual Family Resource Specialist will assist in the coordination and delivery of services for clients and/or families by providing program development, scheduling, marketing, enrolling, evaluating, and provision of services for clients and referral sources in the community.  The Specialist will also provide non-clinical family assessments, crisis intervention; family and volunteer recruitment, screening, and training; and design and implementation of services with limited resources. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Supervisor or Project Coordinator in facilitating the scheduling, promotion, and enrollment of family education classes, home visitation for parent education and parent support groups, as assigned to this position.
  • Screen potential referrals for eligibility into DePelchin programs.              
  • Provide referrals and resource information to Family Resource Center clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and timely data needed for program accountability and program initiation for all services.
  • Assist the Project Supervisor in ensuring that all employees maintain accurate documentation and timely data needed for program accountability for all programs.
  • Participate in relevant local and state training and activities; participate in DCC committee work as assigned.
  • Contribute to relevant team and supervision meetings for Program, Prevention Services, Agency, and the assigned services under this position.
  • Provide occasional community education presentations on the FRC services, child abuse topics and parenting skills, as needed.
  • Answer informational requests and inquiries about current services of FRC and of the agency.
  • Comply with all agency policies/procedures, COA Accreditation Standards, and all applicable licensing standards.
  • Participate at community outreach activities to educate the broader community about the Agency, our activities, and project.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Fluent in Spanish.  English required.
  • Must be certified in required curriculums or be able to attain such certification within the first year of employment. Employment is contingent on acquisition of minimal certification/licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience in the social services.
  • Experience working with children and families in various settings.
  • Some experience in case management, crisis intervention, and child welfare.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires high moderate level of independent work in implementation and service provision of program.

Work Conditions:

  • Environment: Office, Community
  • Range of Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Occasional nights or weekends.
  • Travel:  Occasional, Local.  Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid Texas driver license.
